Jemarcus Williams, 46, has been arrested after killing two Las Vegas police officers, Michael Abbate and Alberto Felix in a hit-and-run accident.
An inebriated driver ploughed into both of them in a White Chevy and then fled the scene.
He was arrested a few hours later and booked on several charges.

Who is Jemarcus Williams Las Vegas?
Jemarcus Rojee Williams is a 46-year-old American man who is in the news after killing two Las Vegas troopers on a freeway in a hit-and-run whilst driving under the influence.
The troopers had stopped to check on a driver who was asleep behind the wheel on Interstate 15 around 3:30 a.m. when a white Chevrolet HHR – driven by Jemarcus Rojee Williams – struck them both, Las Vegas police said.
After knocking down the officers, Jemarcus did not stop but drove away.
One trooper was pronounced dead at a hospital whilst the other died at the scene.
Their names have not been released but both were reportedly husbands with children.
“We are deeply saddened to report that 2 Nevada State Troopers conducting a motorist assist earlier this morning in Las Vegas were struck by a vehicle and have been confirmed deceased. The investigation is currently on-going and being conducted by LVMPD,” Nevada State Police said in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Suspect Jemarcus Williams was arrested hours after the crash.
“#BREAKING We have arrested Jemarcus Williams, 46, on multiple charges including DUI above the legal limit resulting in death,” the LVMPD said in a another statement shared to X.
“This is in connection to the deaths of two @NVStatePolice Troopers this morning,”
The statement read: “On November 30th, at approximately 3:23 a.m., two Nevada State Police Troopers were making contact with a motorist who appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel and was pulled over to the side of the road in the area of Interstate 15 & D Street.
“Moments later, a white Chevrolet HHR collided with the troopers. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
“Medical personnel responded and transported one of the troopers to UMC Trauma where he later died. The other trooper succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
“LVMPD responded to the scene and performed a grid search for the white Chevrolet HHR. Officers were able to locate the vehicle unoccupied in an apartment complex near J street and Monroe Avenue at approximately 8:00 a.m.
“Through investigative measures, we were able to identify the suspect as 46-year-old Jemarcus Williams.
“He was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for the following charges:
Reckless driving resulting in death (2 Counts)
• Driving under the influence resulting in death (2 Counts)
· Duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving death (2 Counts)
“This remains an ongoing investigation being led by the LVMPD Homicide Section. A future update will be provided when additional information is available,”
Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix
In a post shared Friday, December 1st, the Nevada Highway Patrol announced the two officers killed by Jemarcus Williams Las Vegas as Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix.
In a statement, they wrote: “The Nevada Highway Patrol announces with deep sorrow the loss of two State Troopers in the line of duty on November 30, 2023.
Sergeant Michael Abbate, badge #304, joined the Department in December 2013 and was recently promoted to Sergeant in November 2023.
Trooper Alberto Felix, badge #502, became a part of the Department in January 2019. Prior to his service with the Highway Patrol, Trooper Felix honorably served in the United States Air Force.
Both Sergeant Abbate and Trooper Felix dedicated their careers to serving the State of Nevada with exceptional commitment and pride.
The Nevada State Police extends its heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of our fallen heroes.
We respectfully request that the media maintain the privacy of the families and the Department during this challenging time.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances of this tragic event,”
Jamarcus Williams traffic history
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Jemarcus Williams has a long history of traffic violations.
“Southern Nevada police have ticketed Williams for about a dozen alleged traffic violations since 2007, city and justice court records show,” the Journal wrote.
“In 2007, he was charged with DUI in Las Vegas and later pleaded no contest. He was also caught driving without a license four times during the next three years.
“In 2020, he pleaded no contest to failing to yield the right of way. Las Vegas Municipal Court reduced the charge to a parking citation.
“Most recently, police ticketed Williams for driving with expired license plates this May. He pleaded no contest in the case,”
