Funke was 42 at the time and had struggled a lot to conceive, suffering multiple miscarriages.

She allegedly lost a pregnancy of twins in 2017 before giving birth in 2018.

Rumours flared up that she used a surrogate to deliver, but Funke has never addressed those rumours.

Funke revealed why she does that in 2018 during an interview with blogger Jide Okonjo.

According to her, being in the public eye is brutal and since she and her husband already ace that scrutiny, she doesn’t want to add the children.

“Their dad and I are already in the public eye. They are children, don’t forget. They are children. They are vulnerable, so you have to keep them away, keep them safe,” she said.

“Let them go to school, let them enjoy their lives without “Ah!” that’s Jenifa’s son. That’s JJC’s son. Ah, see his leg, see his face” Leave them private!” she added.
