Fraser Michael Bohm is a 22-year-old American from Malibu responsible for the horriffic accident on the PCH that killed four Pepperdine students.

On Tuesday night, October 17, 2023, a horrific crash on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu claimed the lives of four young women who were students at Pepperdine University. 

The driver who caused the crash was identified as 22-year-old Fraser Michael Bohm.

He was speeding on the PCH and lost control of his vehicle, striking four Pepperdine University female students standing by the side of the road.

All four victims died at the hands of Fraser Michael Bohm –  Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams.

Michael Bohm was arrested for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, but was later released pending further investigations.

Who is Fraser Michael Bohm?

Fraser Michael Bohm is a 22-year-old American male solely responsible for the horrific crash on the Pacific Coast Highway that killed four female students of Pepperdine University and injured a couple others.

Michael Bohm is a 22-years-old American with South African origins who hails from Malibu, according to publicly available information.

A Facebook page for Fraser Bohm suggests he attended Malibu High School but is originally from the South African province of Western Cape.

Fraser Bohm Malibu killed four Pepperdine students on PCH died after he hit them in a collision while standing on the side of the road in Malibu.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Octobebr 17th 2023 in the 21600 block of PCH, near La Costa Beach and east of the Malibu Pier.

According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD), perp Fraser Michael Bohm was driving a dark gray four-door BMW sedan westbound on PCH near Carbon Canyon Road when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and swerved towards the shoulder of the north side of PCH, where he hit several parked cars that in turn struck a group of young women who were walking nearby.

The impact was so violent that four young women – Niamh Rolston, 20, Peyton Steward, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, were all declared dead at the scene.

Two others were taken to local hospitals in unknown conditions.

All the victims were seniors at Seaver College, the undergraduate school of Pepperdine.

Bohm was arrested at the crash site on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.

Bohm didn’t appear to be street racing, and officials are still investigating whether he was inebriated during the crash, the sheriff’s department said in a conference Wednesday.

A DUI investigation is still pending, LASD said.

Witnesses say that they saw the Fraser Michael Bohm get out of his wrecked car unharmed before being pinned to the ground by several people. 

He has been released from custody pending further investigation, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Roger Schalkx said.

A week after the crash on Tuesday, October 24th 2023, Fraser Michael Bohm was rearrested.

He was granted bail in the sum of $8m.

“The Sheriff’s Department is relentlessly working to ensure we get justice for the victims’ families,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

Further information we dug out on Michael Bohm shows he has a player profile under the name Fraser Bohm on perfectgame.org suggesting he is a baseball prospect.

His profile on the site reads: “Fraser Bohm is a 2020 RHP with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Malibu, CA who attends Oaks Christian HS. 

“Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Primary righthanded pitcher, balanced delivery on the mound with a high leg raise at start of delivery; full and loose arm action working to a mid three-quarters release point. 

“Fastball comes out of hand well, topped out at 88 mph with hard sinking life at times, can improve consistency of directionality towards the plate but fills the zone and shows ability to work down. 

“Slider was a go-to secondary up to 80 mph with short and tight spin with late tilt, showed some depth through the zone and has making of true out pitch,”

Michal Bohm apparently had college interests from LOUISIANA STATE, TCU, ARIZONA, UCLA, PAC 10, and SEC. It’s as yet unclear if he landed at any of these colleges.

Following the crash that killed four Pepperdine students with Fraser Michael Bohm at the wheel, residents called for some action to stop the constant deaths on the PCH.

A woman who has lived in the area for many years told KTLA that the stretch of Pacific Coast Highway is known as “Dead Man’s Curve” due to the high number of accidents, nearly all of which involve speeding drivers. 

“Every six months there’s another accident,” the woman, who did not want to appear on camera, told KTLA 5’s Carlos Herrera. 

“There was one three months ago, there was one four months ago, and they are all within these five to six houses.” 

“They need to put flashers up … or put some road bumps, or lower it down to 35 miles per hour,” she said. “Because nobody goes 45, everybody goes 55.” 

Sheriff’s Department Captain Jennifer Seeto echoed the same sentiment at Wednesday’s news briefing.

“There are too many people on this stretch of highway that have been killed,” she said.

“We are working with the community … to make sure that people are educated about the dangers of PCH, and to slow down.”

Who are the 4 Pepperdine Students Killed on PCH?

The four Pepperdine students killed on PCH by Michael Bohm Malibu after losing control of his car were described by their friends and family as bright, kind, and passionate individuals who had a lot to offer to the world. 

All four as mentioned were seniors at Pepperdine and were involved in various academic and extracurricular activities.

There was a Pepperdine fraternity party being held in the area and the victims had been planning to meet up with others when their lives were tragically cut short!

Here is what we know about them…

Niamh Rolston was a business administration and management major who loved traveling and learning new languages.

According to her LinkedIn page, in addition to attending Pepperdine, Niamh Rolston also worked as a boutique associate, cheer camp coach and gymnastic coach

Peyton Stewart was a business administration major who was extremely high achieving and was on a scholarship at Pepperdine University.

She pledged the Alpha Phi sorority and was scheduled to graduate from Pepperdine’s Seaver College in 2024.

Peyton Stewart volunteered at an old folks home and recently completed an internship at TikTok, according to her LinkedIn page.

Asha Weir was a writing tutor at Pepperdine in her spare time.

Deslyn Williams was also an extremely intelligent and industrious student whose employer paid tribute to her in a heartbreaking Facebook post saying: “When you get the saddest news -21 miles of devastation – a road full of heart break,”

Additional plans are in the works to hold memorial services for each student individually. 

The university also offered counseling and support services for anyone who needed them.

Meanwhile, LASD Captain Seetoo said that this crash underscored the need to address the safety issues on PCH, which has been notorious for its high rate of fatal accidents over the years. 

She said that her department was working with community partners and elected officials to raise awareness and enforce laws on speeding, distracted driving, driving under the influence, and other factors that contribute to crashes on PCH.

According to her,  PCH is not a racetrack or a playground, but a highway that connects people’s lives. She said that every life matters, and that no one should have to suffer the pain and loss that the families of the four women are going through.

The crash that killed four Pepperdine students on PCH was a senseless and preventable tragedy that has left a void in the hearts of many. The four women were not just students, but daughters, sisters, friends, and leaders who had a positive impact on everyone they met. 

They will be remembered for their intelligence, kindness, and passion, and their legacy will live on in the people they inspired.
