“Evacuations and lockdowns are in place, and the FBI is involved as the loud boom could be heard from miles away. It is not immediately known if anyone was hurt this is still developing,”

One person was taken into custody,”

KTLA wrote: “A small explosion rattled The Village at Tustin Legacy shopping center in Orange County Tuesday afternoon, forcing some shoppers and nearby residents to evacuate.

“The blast was first reported at about 1:15 p.m. near the Bank of America on Kensington Park Drive.

“Authorities told KTLA 5 reporter Chip Yost that someone set off an illegal, mortar-like firework in front of the shopping center that produced a loud boom that could be heard from miles away,”

The Orange County Bomb Squad, Sheriff’s Department, and Tustin Police responded and took one suspect into custody.

He was identified as an American male but no other details were available.

Tustin is a city located in Orange County, California, United States, within the Los Angeles metropolitan area. In 2020, Tustin had a population of 80,276.

On November 1, 1776, Mission San Juan Capistrano became the area’s first permanent European settlement in Alta California, New Spain.
