According to her family, Charlotte had taken several bike loops and decided to take an extra one when she unceremoniously vanished.
Per police revelations, Craig Ross Nelson Jr abducted her on her final bike run and took her to his trailer on mother’s property in Milton where he resides.
Charlotte Sena was found inside a cabinet in Nelson’s camper van.
The case unravelled when Craig Ross Jr drove up to Sena’s parents’ home at 4.20 am Monday morning and left a ransom note inside their mailbox.
Unfortunately for him, the note contained his fingerprints and DNA, allowing investigators to run it which led them to finally find a match in their database linking the fingerprints to a DWI arrest made in Saratoga County in 1999.
Once authorities identified a suspect, two SWAT teams swooped on the Milton property owned by Ross’ mom where he resided.

He was arrested after a brief struggle with investigators whilst Charlotte was found covered up and hidden in a cabinet.
She was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital after being found and is said to be in good physical health.
Saratoga county police released an update to an earlier statement confirming Charlotte Sena was found safe and sound and that the suspect, Craig Nelson Ross Jr was in custody.
“Charlotte Sena has been located and in good health. A suspect is in custody. This is still an active investigation. More details will be released as they become available at nyspnews.com.” the update read.
The earlier statement had said: “On October 2, 2023, through the course of the investigation, State Police identified an individual as being in the area of the Moreau Lake State Park around the time Charlotte went missing.
“Further investigation led to the search of multiple residences where the individual is known to reside. “Upon the search of those residences, at approximately 6:32 p.m. on October 2, 2023, State Police located Charlotte Sena safe and in good health. The suspect was taken into custody.
“This investigation is a culmination of multiple agencies working together for the common goal of bringing this child home to her loving family.
“We cannot emphasize enough how appreciative we are for the support we received from Charlotte’s community, friends and family.
“This is still an active investigation. More details will be shared as they become available,”
Said New York Governor Kathy Hochul: “I promised her parents we’ll find their daughter. She’s all of our daughters.
“We are overjoyed at the news that Charlotte Sena has been located safely this evening after an intense days-long search.
“Our hearts are with her family as they welcome her home.
“Thank you to the New York State Police, New York Park Police and all who worked so tirelessly to find Charlotte.
“It is because of their efforts that Charlotte will be able to return home safe to her family,”

Following his arrest, Craig Nelson Ross Jr was taken to the Saratoga County Jail, where he is being held without bond as cops continue to probe whether he may be involved in any other disappearances.
He has been charged with kidnapping.

Charlotte Sena abduction
Charlotte Sena, a nine-year-old girl went missing from a New York state park on September 30th and was rescued on October 2nd.
On September 30th, around 6:15 pm, Charlotte Sena was camping with her family and friends at Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County, 50 miles north of Albany.
She was riding her bike on Loop A of the park with some friends, and decided to do one more lap by herself.
When she did not return after 15 minutes, her parents and other campers started to look for her and found her bike abandoned.
They called 911 and reported her missing.

On October 1st, an amber alert was issued by the New York State Police, who believed that Charlotte was abducted under circumstances that put her in imminent danger of serious harm or death.
More than 100 personnel and 75 law enforcement officials were deployed in the search, along with dogs, drones, boats, and underwater rescue teams.
“I promised her parents we’ll find their daughter. She’s all of our daughters,” NY Governor Hochul said.
“Their family needs love. They need prayers. And if you know anything, if you’ve seen anything, if you hear anything, please contact 911 to tell us what you know and what you may contribute to the search for this little girl.”
Thankfully on October 2nd, around 11 am, Charlotte was found alive and safe in a nearby town, and a suspect involved in her disappearance was arrested.
Investigators said around 4:20 am Monday, October 1, a car pulled up to the mailbox of the Sena family home and left a ransom note inside.
Fingerprints were taken off the note which matched a suspect, 47 y/o Craig Nelson Ross Jr.
Investigators found the suspect in a camper on property owned by his mother.
Charlotte was found in a cabinet inside the camper and Craig Nelson Ross Jr. was taken and into custody after some resistance.
Charlotte was reunited with her family, who expressed their gratitude to the authorities and the public for their help and prayers.
She was in good health and did not appear to have been harmed physically or sexually.
Charlotte Sena is a fourth-grader who had recently been elected to be a class officer for student council.

Moreau Lake State Park is a 6,250-acre (2,530 ha) state park in Saratoga County, New York, United States.
The park is located in the southwest part of the town of Moreau on US 9 off Interstate 87. It has over 20 mi (32 km) of hiking trails.
