The Crime Branch of Odisha Police has arrested a Nigerian national from New Delhi in connection with a cyber fraud case.
The accused, identified as Patrick Chizorom Orajaka (35), was holding a Nigerian passport and staying at an apartment in Bengal Colony of Mahavir Enclave in New Delhi. An Odisha CB team arrested him from Dwarka in Delhi on Tuesday for duping a woman of Cuttack of Rs 29 lakh. Later, he was produced in a court and brought on transit remand to Odisha, sources said.
The Cyber PS has registered the case as per a complaint lodged by the Cuttack woman that she was cheated by an Instagram user who contacted her by identifying himself as a gynaecologist from the Netherlands.
